Arsenal vs. Swansea post-game reactions

On Saturday, Arsenal were able to beat Swansea City 1-0 at Emirates Stadium.

Arshavin scored on a mistake by Swansea keeper, Michael Vorm.

The Gunners welcomed new additions, Mikel Arteta and Per Mertesacker to the line-up.

Mertesacker started partnered with Laurent Koscielny on the back-line while Arteta was in the midfield joined by Aaron Ramsey and Emmanuel Frimpong.

I already love watching Arteta play. He is like a combo of what Arsenal lost in Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri in the summer transfer window. He is an accurate and smart passer and excellent on dead balls and corner kicks.

Mertesacker is HUGE. At 6-6 he looms over opposing players and should be able to win many aerial battles for the Arsenal defense.

Watching the game I was close to a heart-attack especially in the second half. Arsenal only managed one goal, and it was a fluke goal if you’ll look at the match highlights.

Swansea goaltender Michael Vorm picked up a ball and tried to throw it out of the zone. Instead it hit one of his defenders in the back of the legs and bounced right in front of Arsenal forward Andrey Arshavin.

The Russian international took the ball and hit it at a nice angle to score the only goal of the game.

Arteta played well for Arsenal, Arshavin too.

Ramsey looked pretty good.

Mertesacker was only alright, and Kieran Gibbs was unspectacular returning from injury. Robin van Persie didn’t do anything of note.

Arsenal faces Dortmund on Tuesday in a Champion’s League show-down and fortunately Alex Song and Gervinho will both be back. They sat out of Saturday’s contest due to suspensions.
