Blackburn 4 — Arsenal 3

Before the Hawkeyes took the field against Pittsburgh on Saturday, I watched the Arsenal game as I started off my morning tailgating.

I watched the game with one of my friends who also is an Arsenal fan and we suffered through it together.

This game was pathetic to say the least. Arsenal looked terrible as they played in pouring rain at Blackburn.

Arsenal is off to its worst start in 58 years

The Rovers got helped out from Arsenal as they let in not one but TWO own goals. The first was by Alex Song in the 50th minute and then Laurent Koscielny let a corner bounce off his legs and passed his own keeper right into the net in the 67th minute.

Here are all the highlights of the match.

New additions Gervinho and Mikel Arteta had their first goals in an Arsenal kit. Gervinho scored in the 10th minute and Arteta in the 34th.

Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna was injured during the match and the defense clearly missed him. Johan Djourou has gotten beat consistenly this season, and Arsenal desperately need to pick up a defender in the January transfer window.

This team has been considerably inconsistent this season and we’ll see how the Gunners perform in their next three games which are all at home against Shrewsbury, Bolton and Olympiacos. I would say that Arsenal will win these next three games especially playing at Emirates Stadium, but the way they played against Blackburn anything is possible.
