Arsenal 5 — Chelsea 3

After coming home last night from downtown I set my alarm for 6:30 AM hoping I would be functioning enough to watch the game. Arsenal traveled to Stamford Bridge in West London, home of Chelsea FC.

Chelsea has been having a very good year, and this game was televised on ESPN2, which was nice because I usually have to stream it on my computer.

Anyway I woke up and was immediately happy I did this was the most entertaining game I’ve ever seen. A total of eight goals were scored between these two clubs and Arsenal was able to get a win as the visiting time.

Where to start…

Well there wasn’t really any defense played, but I was thoroughly impressed by Aaron Ramsey and Theo Walcott. Walcott used his pace to burst past Ashley Cole and create crosses with ease. Walcott later scored on the day too. For a player who hadn’t been performing the past few weeks it was nice to see him with a dominant performance.

Robin van Persie continued to be the rock that holds Arsenal together. He’s cementing himself as the best striker in the Premier League if not the world. The club captain had three goals today, two in the second half to win the game for the Gunners.

Here are the match highlights, just watch John Terry get embarrassed and van Persie easily dribble around Petr Cech for a score.

This win was so important for the club, they have gotten their swagger back and have won eight of their past nine matches. Arsenal is finally looking like the club they can be and they are still without three starters in Jack Wilshere, Bacary Sagna and Thomas Vermaelen (who played about five minutes today).

I’m going to have a smile on my face the rest of the day due to this brilliant performance from the Gunners.
